Created by writer and professor Marjorie Agosín and the renowned illustrator Francisca Yañez, The flowering tree is a text based on real events which narrates the life of a Jewish family that, after escaping the conflicts in Europe , comes to live in the Valparaíso Region, specifiically in Quillota. The narrator of the book is Celeste the granddaughter of inmigrants Abraham and Raquel. This book seeks to instill values such as tolerance, acceptance and appreciation for each other’s differences in a multicultural context.
